June 1st - 15th, 2012

June signals the approach of mid-year and the beginning of Summer in the northern hemisphere.  It is the end of the school year for many students or the end of a study program and graduation, plus it heralds the beginning of the traditional vacation season between Memorial Day and Labor Day in the United States.  Named for the Roman goddess Juno, known as the goddess of marriage, this month is looked upon as the best for couples to tie the knot!  We look forward to more daylight hours as the longest day approaches in the northern hemisphere and delight in the abundance of greenery and flowers, especially the roses.  Major holidays this month are Flag Day and Father's Day.  Enjoy the season and remember to continue playing daily crossword puzzles for better mental health, as well as the entertainment factor.
