Mar. 16th - 31st, 2013

Welcome to March: the herald of Spring.  This is the month that "comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb" (hopefully).  This is a time when animals end their hibernation, plants and trees come back to life, and the sap begins to flow.  Originally the first month on the Roman calendar, it is named for Mars, the god of war, undoubtedly because it represents a period of unsettled weather.  The major holiday celebrated in March is St. Patrick's Day, in commemoration of the Irish priest who became the patron saint of Ireland.  This month, in the northern hemisphere, we look forward to the beginning of Spring with softer days to come and the return to outdoor activities, shedding heavy clothing, and enjoying more sunshine again.  Either inside or out, remember to reserve a few moments to do a puzzle or two from time to time.  This month's selections appear below, or you can choose from the 900+ puzzles in the archives listed to the right.
